Paris Hilton Arrested on Drug ChargeAug 29, 2010Paris Hilton, below, was arrested in Las Vegas late Friday night on suspicion of felony cocaine possession after a small container of the drug fell out of her purse in full view of a police officer, The Associated Press reported. Ms. Hilton, 29, was in a black Cadillac Escalade being driven down the Strip by her boyfriend, Cy Waits, when a police officer smelled marijuana smoke wafting from the car and pulled it over. When Ms. Hilton stepped out of the car and reached for some lip balm, Sgt. John Sheahan of the Las Vegas Police Department said, “a bindle of cocaine in a plastic bag came out of her purse.” She was booked and released on her own recognizance, and by 2:56 a.m. on Saturday wrote on Twitter that she was in bed enjoying the television show “Family Guy.” Ms. Hilton was arrested this year in South Africa on suspicion of marijuana possession while attending the World Cup, but the charges were dropped. |
